Landscape Photographer — Colorado

Since 2014 I've been photographing the world around me. It all started with a smartphone (probably an iPhone 5s or iPhone 4), and something I did to document hikes. After about 3 years the motivation changed. I photographed a sunrise on Cape Code in 2017 - and the bliss and euphoria I had photographing such light began what would become a life-long pasion for photographing the best light of the world around me.

These days I shoot primarily on a Fujifilm GFX 100S, a medium format camera that captures the kind of detail and tonal range that translates beautifully to large prints. Over the years I've carried a handful of backup cameras too, but the GFX has been my work horse. Recently I've been doing a lot of work with the Nikon Z8 and I'm blown away. I've printed it as large as a 13' x 19' and it's still looked great.

I like photographing things that people miss. When I'm alone on trail it excites me, I'm seeing a moment that no one else is and I'll get to share it with the rest of the world. I like photographing (among countless other things) fog, hoarfrost, and intimate details in the landscape. Colorado has been home since 2024, and the Rockies give me endless material, but I'm just as likely to find something worth printing on the side of the road on a dreary day (see the image titled "grain" for an example.

Every print in this collection is a moment I stood somewhere and saw something beautiful. I hope you see it too.
